My favorite way to travel
I'm headed home from a long week in New Orleans. I decided to use
Amtrak to get back. This is about my fourth time to take the train
from the Delta to Louisiana, and I really think it is my favorite way
to travel. It's not the fastest mode of transportation, but if you're
not in a rush I highly recommend it. The trip is about a third longer
than traveling by car, but I don't have to drive! So right now I'm
sitting in the dining car, looking out at the beautiful bayous with my
laptop open so I can get some work done.

The train system, in my opinion, is not used nearly enough in the
United States. It generally cost less than filling the gas tank of
your car, and there are few ways better than this to see the country.
So the next time you travel, consider slowing down a bit and riding
the train!

I love it too, Will, as long as an overnight trip doesn't result in my sleeping (ha!) in a top bunk. Done that once and never again!
I've traveled to New Orleans and also to Chicago on Amtrak and definitely recommend this travel mode. Lots of time to read and visit. Very relaxing, and the food was darn good.
I agree! I love taking the train. I have taken it cross country three times now. Taking the train gives you such a nice relaxing break!
Love the train! More train photos!!! Went from Wyoming to CA once.
