the day after gustav
On the tuesday after Hurricane Gustav made landfall I met my buddy, and fellow photographer, Chris Williams in Vicksburg. Chris lives in New Orleans and he and his wife had evacuated to Jackson. I figured he might want a break from the walls of his hotel room, so I gave him a call.
On my way back home I fully intended to get back as quickly as I could. But I kept seeing things I wanted to photograph, so what should have been a ninety minute drive turned into about a four hour exploration. And it was one I've been wanting to do for quite a while. I'm glad I finally took the time, and I think I'll be releasing these images as a new collection soon.
More will come later. For now, I wanted to share a few of these with you. Let me know what you think. I'd love to hear your thoughts.

I look at your work and think, now this man is a real photographer...
You are up there with Shawn Reeder on work, vision and creativity that I aspire to.
I am just so sad that I didn't get to see you speak in CA.
